The ORPHEUS2009 conference was attended by 165 delegates from 72 universities from 33 European countries, see photo. Among the invited speakers were

·      Prof. Jean Chambaz, Chairman of the EUA-CDE steering committee,

·      Dr. Sergio Di Virgilio, Research Directorate General, European Commission.

Participants included deans of health science faculties, heads of health science graduate schools, and others concerned with PhD training, be they Faculty, administrators as well as PhD students/candidates.

Among results of the conference was the production of a position paper on the theme of the conference, which was accepted following extensive preparation prior to the conference, and discussion during the conference. A short report of the conference may be found here.
